ADOPT A VILLAGE PROJECT (AVP)

As part of NGYF's mission, we have initiated the 'Adopt a Village Project' (AVP). This project is centred around bringing about transformation and sustainable development into the lives of both individuals and their communities, especially in areas which are not reached by the government of other NGOs.

The AVP initiative aims to help identify the needs and the challenges of individuals and their communities, and via education, we aim to empower individuals and allow them to obtain the necessary skills and resources that they need to make, work for or obtain what they need, and to establish and implement sustainable solutions to their problems

Our goal is to work with these villages to eradicate poverty within the communities, work towards achieving sustainable development within the communities and to facilitate them in becoming self-dependent.

To serve as a mouthpiece for those that lack a voice

To address prevalent issues that continue to hinder the development of individuals and communities

We aim to do this by:

Building connections with disadvantaged individuals and communities

Promoting social change and increased awareness through cross-cultural, global volunteer exchanges.

Get involved in promoting quality education and self-development among hearing impaired children in our Teaching Aid Program in the Volta region of Ghana. In a country where the topic of disability and special needs is often neglected, more awareness around the issue and action is required. Many people, especially children, live with disabilities and because of it are unfairly disadvantaged and limited with regards to education and educational outcomes. Many are unsure of whether they will get the opportunity to pursue their dream careers or professions.

Help change this reality! With motivation, and support children with disabilities don't have to be unsure of their capabilities. Share your skills, and talents and help support and motivate these young people, and allow them to see their own potential. Whilst contributing to the the growth of these children's self-confidence and empowerment, you can also experience more about the vibrant country. Ghana is a wonderful country with a hospitable culture and beautiful people; hopefully by working with some of these children you will be able to learn and experience this whilst leaving your mark and building life-long connections!
